History When I first saw the S197's I knew that I had to have one. I didn't really start looking until the late summer of 2007. After looking around for a bit, I started dealing on an '07 red vert with a tan top. Before I could complete the deal, my wife decided that we needed to go on a family shopping trip to Seattle and after a day or so of wandering the malls, I managed to sneek off and found myself at Harris Ford in Lynnwood Washington. For some reason, this particular vista blue coupe really caught my eye and before the afternoon was out it was mine. The original exterior mods and paint were done at AutoFX in Tacoma, Washington and the lowering springs, shifter, exhaust, and wheels/tires were done by the dealership. My first significant drive in the car was the cruise across Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Alberta - all the way back to Calgary in some of the most beautiful weather and scenery. Quite a way to fall in love with a car.
The May 2008 long weekend saw the installation of the supercharger and gauges. The line locks followed later in the summer. In the fall of '08 a few passes on the dragstrip finished off the stock clutch and the build plans for the winter commenced. The new drivetrain was installed in May/June of '09. The build went very well with a few minor hiccups.
My goal was to build a very nasty street car with tastefully selected styling. The car is a summer daily driver that puts a huge grin on my face every time I get behind the wheel.
